VAT refund

Travellers residing outside the EU are entitled to a VAT refund. You can read more here about how this is done and what you do to get your VAT refund at Stockholm Arlanda.

Ask for a TaxFree Cheque in the shop where you make a purchase and save up to 17.5% of Swedish VAT on items purchased. Note that this does not apply to people residing in Norway or for purchases of food, perfume and cosmetics, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.

How this is done:

When you make a purchase, the shop sales staff fills out a Global Blue TaxFree Cheque and your goods are given special stickers.

On departure from Sweden, but prior to check-in, you go to Global Blue’s office for goods inspection in the Terminal 5 departure hall, or the Forex office in the Terminal 2 departure hall (Forex is the agent for Global Blue). You show your goods there, and your Global Blue TaxFree Cheque is stamped.

When you shop at Stockholm Arlanda after the security checkpoint in Terminal 5, ask for a Global Blue TaxFree Cheque in the shop and receive your VAT refund immediately.

You cash your Global Blue TaxFree Cheque at Global Blue’s redemption office in Terminal 5 or at Forex in Terminal 2; see below for more details.
